WHEATON, Md. — Need some fun activities for the kids this summer? Don’t worry. Just check out the Montgomery Parks Summer Adventure Checklist for 20 activities and events to ward off the summer doldrums.
From concerts to kayaking, history, the arts, nature education and more, the Summer Adventure Checklist has an array of fun things to do that will appeal to all interests and tastes.
A sampling of Summer Adventure Checklist activities include:
- Sing and Dance along at Parks Playhouse Junior, a series of free, kid-friendly performances.
- Cool off at the South Germantown Recreational SplashPark. The jet water maze, water bucket drops, and adjacent mini golf course provide hours of fun.
- Delight in an outdoor production of a “Midsummer Night’s Dream.”
- Travel back in time at Woodlawn Manor Cultural Park’s Summer Family Day on August 10.
- Listen to some of the best local and regional music at the Parks’ Summer Concert Series.
While designed for families with children, the Summer Adventure Checklist is open to anyone looking for engaging and educational summer activities.
